도시의 리듬

이 작업은 도시에 존재하는 건축물들, 아파트와 상업 건축물들이 만들어내는 독특한 리듬을 시각적으로 표현하고자 한다. 도심의 풍경을 바라보는 걸 좋아해서 차를 타거나 전철을 탈 때 바깥 풍경을 보고는 하였다. 그럴 때 매일 지나치는 도시 풍경에서 비슷해 보이지만 건물마다 조금씩 다른 높이, 색상, 디자인 등을 보며 도시가 단순한 반복이 아니라 각자의 개성을 가진 구조물로 이루어져 있다는 것을 흥미롭게 생각하였다.
일차원적으로 생각하면 단순한 콘크리트와 유리로 이루어진 구조물이지만 건물들은 각기 다른 리듬을 가지고 있다고 생각했다.
마치 이 삶을 살아가는 우리들처럼.
이러한 건축물들이 가진 리듬을 픽셀소팅 기법을 통해 재구성하여 건물의 선들이 흐트러지거나 왜곡되면서 도시의 고유한 리듬을 시각적으로 추상화 하였다. 이를 통해 도시의 일상적인 풍경 속 익숙한 건축물들이 만들어내는 독특한 흐름과 변주를 새롭게 느낄 수 있길 바란다.

This work visually expresses the unique rhythm created by urban architecture, including apartments and commercial buildings in the city. I have always enjoyed observing cityscapes, often gazing at the outside scenery while in a car or on the subway.
Looking at the urban landscape | pass daily, I began noticing that, though the buildings may appear similar, each has subtle differences in height, color, and design. This led me to realize that the city isn't merely a repetitive pattern; it's composed of structures with individual character. Though these structures may seem to be simple forms of concrete and glass, I see each building as possessing its own rhythm, much like each of us navigating our own lives.
Using the pixel sorting technique, I reconstruct these architectural forms, letting the lines of the buildings blur or distort, abstractly capturing the unique rhythm of the city. Through this approach, I hope to offer a fresh perception of the familiar urban landscape, highlighting the distinctive flow and variations created by thearchitecture that surrounds us
