우리는 있는 그대로의 세상을 알 수 있는 것이 아니라 우리 안에 내재된 틀을 통해 구성한 결과만을 이해할 수 있다. 각자가 나름대로 세상을 경험하며 이해하려 하지만 이러한 해석이 실제와 일치하는지는 미지수인 것이다. 세계는 물을 투과한 빛의 일렁임처럼 아무런 정보를 갖지 않을수도, 우리가 보지 못하는 무언가를 내포할 수도 있다.
진실에 도달하려는 시도가 결국 현상을 마주하는 우리의 감각적 한계를 넘지 못한다면 우리가 진정으로 알 수 있는 것이 무엇일까.
그럼에도 불구하고 세상을 해석하고 이해하며 진리를 찾으려는 노력은 나에게 여전히 중요한 의미를 가진다. <현상>은 세상에 대한 우리의 이해를 되돌아보고 새로운 가능성을 찾고자하는 시도다.
장치는 빛과 일렁이는 물을 통해 이미지를 만들어낸다. 물성을 가진 것들이 상호작용하며 끊임없이 변화하는 이미지를 내보인다.
이를 통해 이미지가 우리의 통제 바깥에 있을 때만 가질 수 있는 아름다움을 제시한다. 이 작품을 통한 단순한 감각적 경험이 이성적 사고를 초월하는 경험으로 이어지길 바란다.

We cannot know the world as it is, but only through the frameworks inherent within us, which shape and construct our understanding.
Each individual experiences and interprets the world in their own way, yet whether these interpretations align with reality remains uncertain. The world may be either devoid of any intrinsic meaning or possibly containing something we cannot perceive.
If our attempt to reach the truth is limited by the sensory boundaries of our experience with phenomena, what can we truly know?
Nonetheless, the effort to interpret, understand, and seek truth still holds significant value. «Phenomenon» is an attempt to reflect on our understanding of the world and to discover new possibilities.
The device creates images through light and the movement of water. As materials with physical properties interact, they produce constantly changing images. This process reveals a beauty that can only exist when the image lies beyond our control.
Through this work, I hope that a simple sensory experience will lead to an encounter that transcends rational thought.
