드랙퀸이라는 존재는 사회가 규정한 성의 경계 위에서 살아간다.
나는 그들이 겪는 혼란과 동시에 품고 있는 강한 에너지에 주목했다.
〈Unlabeled〉는 화려한 외형 속에 감춰진 불안, 그리고 그 안에서 스스로를 찾아가는 과정을 시각적으로 표현한 작업이다.
시간이 흐를수록 채도는 점차 사라지고, 화장은 흐트러진다.
그 변화는 드랙퀸이 사회적 시선과 내면의 괴리 속에서 마주하는 정체성의 균열을 상징한다.
마지막에 남은 코르셋 위의 남성 자켓은 사회가 부여한 역할의 무게이자, 동시에 그것을 벗어던짐으로써 얻는 해방의 순간을 의미한다.
이 작업을 통해 나는 ‘규정되지 않은 존재로 산다는 것’이 불안과 혼란 속에서도 하나의 자유가 될 수 있음을 이야기하고자 했다.

A drag queen lives on the boundary of gender defined by society.
I was drawn to the tension between their confusion and the powerful energy they embody.
〈Unlabeled〉 visualizes the process of confronting that tension — the anxiety hidden behind beauty, and the search for an authentic self within it.
As the series unfolds, colors fade and makeup begins to blur, mirroring the fracture between one’s identity and the social gaze.
The men’s jacket over a corset stands as both the weight of imposed roles and the gesture of liberation in shedding them.Through this work, I wanted to explore how living without labels — though uncertain and unstable — can also be a form of freedom.
